Feel the Day in Santa Fe!

The Earthship

There was an earthship of a cloud tonight as I rode my bike through the snowy forest. Amazing. I ran in to get my camera when I got home to catch the last light. Worth the frozen toes, I think (boy was that ever painful though; the thawing process!). You can see how quickly the light changed and faded through this series of images. No saturation changes or any Photoshopping... just the Sangres in fine form! The first image is several stitched together, and the other two were caught with my fisheye.
 

  

Farewell to Jet

I had the great honor of photographing the ceremony to celebrate the life of Jet, a beautiful old horse who was an important part of the Coles family. Juliana and Danny both spoke from the heart about this wonderful horse and how he touched their lives.  Finn (5) wrote a beautiful poem about Jet, and Sean (7) played several songs on his cello in honor of Jet's life. (Jingle Bells included!) :)

It was very touching and a wonderful homage to the beautiful spirit of Jet and to the Coles family. Thanks to Juliana, Danny, Finn and Sean for inviting me to be a part of this special time.

 

         

 

Snowfallsunset!

Last week we had SNOW!  How exciting!  Especially when it melts by noon in most places. It also means that SKI SEASON is on it's way! Yippee!  Here is the evidence. This is Santa Fe Baldy, taken while driving to Chupadero. I think there must be a whole genre of landscape photography from car windows...I know I am guilty.  Here's another one from the passenger seat. It can get dangerous when I am driving, however, I have mostly sworn off that in recent years, at least when there are kids in the car.The funny thing is that is was still Fall in the Chupadero valley... with a gorgeous sunset (another 5/10) to boot.And no, that's not OOT and ABOOT!  

Too much beauty

 

Tonight was about a 5 on the rating of 1-10 of beautiful nights in Chupadero, and even still, I have a hard time choosing photos.  The clouds were pretty special though. Feel the Day!

snow again!

We had a taste of Spring this weekend, which was so lovely. Now we are back to winter.  

We woke up to 6 inches of snow on the ground this morning!  It was a snow day for schools and a sledding day for us. :) A beautiful sunny, snowy day. Tomorrow should be another one, and I'm going snowshoeing, so will get some sunny snow shots.

This image is from last night; the Sangre de Christo mountains (means blood of Christ) at the  beginning of the storm.  Enjoy!

Baldy

I live a pretty beautiful spot -  Santa Fe.  I'm a photographer and a mother who loves and needs to get outside to walk, play and find beauty with my camera.  Why not share some the beauty I see everyday with whomever wants to see it?  It'll inspire me to do it what I need to do everyday. Maybe some of the images will inspire you too!

Infinite Perspective

This is what I titled this image many years ago. I still don't feel like I have such a thing. Life is more like a constant journey into the unknown, as this image portrays more than 'Infinite Perspective' I think (now). It's been an interesting and fun journey here in Santa Fe since I took this shot on my first trip here in 1998!

I have been a fisheye fotographer for fourteen fun years. Finally, a fresh footing for freely sharing fotos! This is my first foray into the blogosphere, having only recently found it during several sleepless nights. Please check back to see more fisheye fotos in the future. Enjoy The Leap!
