Mountain Kids is an outdoor adventure and education program for kids ages 4-8.
We seek to instill in children a love of nature and all that it provides. To this end, we provide children with a fun and safe exploration of the outdoors through imaginative play, games, climbing, hiking, outdoor safety and awareness, nature-inspired art and crafts, and hands-on learning about our natural environment. We spend most of our time on adventures, learning and having fun in the forest.
Big Mountain Kids is currently offered after school for 4-8 year olds on Mondays from 3-5. We continue the traditions that we started this Summer 2009: lots of running, playing and imaginative games, mixed in with learning about nature. Kids who want to have some good, clean fun after school are encouraged to come to play, learn, and create with us!
We are also pleased that we are now a Roots and Shoots Group. This means that the kids will design a project to help people, animals or the environment and present it to Dr. Jane Goodall when she comes to Santa Fe in April. A once in a lifetime opportunity!
